CFSI WASHINGTON DINNER 2010

Annual Congressional Fire Service Caucus Dinner. NEEDA invites you to support the biggest coalition of Senators and Representatives in the US Congress as they launch the drive to enact legislation to invest $5 billion into new fire, emergency, and rescue equipment for our customers. Each year, NEEDA secures a couple of tables for NEEDA members. So, after you have visited Capitol Hill to see your legislator, join legislators and all the top leaders in the fire, EMS and emergency business for one of the biggest and most effective evening dinner events at the Washington DC Hilton Hotel ballroom.
Important: By April, Washington area hotels are often full. Therefore, make your plans to attend and make your reservations in February. Plan to come a day early or stay a day later so you can go to Capitol Hill to visit with your legislators. Many NEEDA members have done this and find the investment of time and money well worth while. Congerss will definiely be in and your legislators will definitely be accessible, particularly if you make an appointment or arrange for them to attend the CFSI Dinner at the Washington Hilton.

CFSI has several hundred special rate hotel rooms reserved at the Washington Hilton for those who plan to attend the dinner Wednesday night. Call the hotel and ask for the "CFSI block." Let NEEDA know if you experience any trouble in reaching the Hilton. In the past it has been difficult for NEEDA to help members looking for DC accommodations unless the search is made early in the year. . . there are almost no rooms available anywhere in downtown Washington in April -- Why? Many senior classes and non-profit organizations schedule trips to Washington DC at that time and their reservations are made many months in advance. For those deciding to come at the last minute, the best arrangement is to stay near one of the Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Prince William or Montgomery County Metro stops and use the subway to come into Washington. This is convenient and will cost less than DC prices. The Metro is clean, inexpensive, efficient and easy to use. Dupont Circle is the nearest metro stop to the Washington Hilton. Capitol Hill is served by Union Station and Capitol South stations.
